Basketball – Middle School Rec

Join the KCE Middle School Recreational Basketball League to develop skills and learn the fundamentals of the game. All skill levels are welcome. Players will be placed on teams based on grade & skill level to balance the teams for a competitive fun league. Games are played on Friday evenings with a weekday 1 hour practice based on coach’s preference.

Join the KCE High School Recreational Basketball League to develop skills and learn the fundamentals of the game. All skill levels are welcome. Players will be placed on teams based on grade & skill level to balance the teams for a competitive fun league. Games are played on Sundays with a weekday 1 hour practice based on coach’s preference.

Join KCE for a 5-week, game-only PreK-K basketball league after winter break. Coaches will practice 20 minutes followed by a 40-minute game. Many coaches are needed as we will focus on smaller teams.

Kenston Travel Basketball Teams play in the Midwest Travel Basketball League (MWTBL), which is hosted by KCE and held at Kenston Local Schools. Teams will practice two times per week for 1.5 hours, scheduled per coach and based on gym availability.

10/11/23 7:00PM: MANDATORY Parent/Player meeting in KMS Cafeteria and FINAL UNIFORM ORDERS due.

Wrestling – BWC

Season: November-February
Who: Ages 5 – 8th Grade

BWC Allstars (Ages 5 – 6th Grade) is club level is designed to introduce student athletes to the sport of wrestling. This division is for a first, second or even third year wrestler regardless of age. Children will learn and continue to develop foundational skills of wrestling.


NEW! BWC Girls Division (Ages 5 – 8th Grade) is fastest growing women’s sport is America is wrestling, and there are many opportunities now at the collegiate level. Bomber Wrestling Club has always been inclusive of female participation but for the first time are offering a girls-only experience where girls will wrestle girls and can choose to practice, as well as compete in all girl tournaments. As always, girls can still signup for the Allstar or Varsity Division as well. This added experience is a steppingstone toward an all-girls team in the future at every level of Kenston Local Schools. It’s a perfect way to introduce your child to the sport of wrestling with her peers.


BWC Varsity (Ages 5 – 6th Grade) is for a third year or more wrestler who is ready to learn higher level technique necessary for competition. Or for the more serious wrestler who wants more practice time and more elite training. Note – if you are a second-year wrestler but wrestled Varsity last season, this is your group too.

BANTAM (3rd-4th GRADES) will practice and play with full equipment in 7v7 format with a concentration on player safety. The focus with this age group is teaching sound fundamentals, player skill development and most importantly having fun! Everyone will play an equal amount on this team.

5TH-8TH GRADES travel teams will play other boys lacrosse teams in the greater NEO area. The focus of these teams is to continue to teach and instill core fundamentals while preparing players for competition at the next level. Teams will compete during in-season games and tournaments. Includes preseason practices and in season practices twice a week at Auburn Community Park (times/days TBD by head coach).

Kenston Girls Travel Lacrosse features great teamwork, tremendous spirit, and the opportunity to enhance agility, speed, power and conditioning during the season. Lacrosse is an open field sports featuring netted sticks to carry and shoot a tennis-sized rubber ball into a triangular goal.

Soccer – Recreational

Join the KCE Outdoor Recreational Soccer League to develop foot skills and learn the fundamentals of soccer. All skill levels are welcome. Players will be placed on teams based on grade & skill level to balance the teams for a competitive fun league. Games typically played on Saturdays and with one weekday practice based on coach’s preference.

Volleyball – Recreational

Join the KCE Girls Recreational Volleyball League to develop volleyball skills and learn the fundamentals of serving, passing and setting. All skill levels are welcome. Players will be placed on teams based on grade & skill level to balance the teams for a competitive fun league. Games typically played on Saturdays and/or Sundays with a 1 hour weekday practice based on coach’s preference.

Baseball – T-Ball (PreK-K CoEd)

This co-ed division is grade-based for boys and girls currently in Kindergarten or who will be attending Kindergarten in the Fall. It is an introductory league focusing the proper mechanics of throwing, catching, hitting and base running. Hitting from the tee builds the necessary hand-eye coordination and muscle memory to be successful when hitting a pitch.

Baseball – Recreational (1st-9th)

Coach Pitch (Currently in 1st-2nd Grades) introduces hitting a ball pitched by your coach. Learning, having fun and building teamwork are the emphasis while teaching proper throwing, catching, hitting and base running mechanics.

Minors (Currently in 3rd-4th Grades) is an exciting year for young players, especially aspiring pitchers and catchers to develop a love for baseball. Pitching, stealing and sliding are introduced with an emphasis on reinforcing proper throwing, catching, hitting and base running mechanics.


Majors (Currently in 5th-6th Grades) increase competitiveness and fine tune skills introduced in Minors.

Pony (Currently in 7th-9th Grades) plays in the Mel Harder League (travel to local communities is required).

Games will be played during the week with Saturdays as a possible rain makeup. Teams will have approximately 2 sessions per week. Once games begin, teams may not practice as all fields will be in use for games.

KCE reserves the right to change the league divisions based on registration.

  • Each week players will be assigned a different 3-4 player team
  • There will be pool play with a tournament each week
  • The players will build points weekly
  • 2 points for a win, 1 for a loss and 0 for a no show
  • We will tally the points at the end of the season to determine the KING of the court!
Softball – Recreational (1st-8th)

Pigtail (Currently in 3rd-5th Grades) is an exciting year for young pitchers and players to develop a love for Fastpitch softball. Pitching, stealing and sliding are introduced with an emphasis on reinforcing proper throwing, catching, hitting and base running mechanics.

Ponytail (Currently in 6th-8th Grades) is a slow-pitch team participating with neighboring communities with an emphasis on development, learning, and fun.

Games will be played during the week with Saturdays as a possible rain makeup. Teams will have approximately 2 sessions per week. Once games begin, teams may not practice as all fields will be in use for games.

Softball – Travel

Travel Softball Teams play in the

Western Reserve Fastpitch League (WRF) and will travel to surrounding communities.

Mandatory practices begin as soon as weather conditions are acceptable mid-March. 2-4 games per week beginning in May thru mid-July. Several weekend tournaments may be added based on league schedule (additional fee required).

These divisions are reserved for Kenston girls with ages in the playing year in accordance with NSA:
10U – 10& under
12U – 12& under
14U – 14& under

Tryouts are in August preceding the playing year. Players must attend at least one tryout date to be eligible to play.

Fall

Baseball – Fall Travel

Incoming 10u (with travel experience), 11u and 12u baseball players will be playing in a mixed community skills and scrimmage fall season. Travel experience is preferred.

Players will continue to practice skills learned in the spring season and will expand on those skills in the fall. All players must have played competitive baseball to participate and understand the foundations of baseball. This is not a league for beginner players.

Cheerleading

Join KCE Cheerleading and enjoy exercise and teamwork while learning the high school cheers!

Participants will cheer for a Tackle or Flag Football team at games which are played on Saturdays and/or Sundays. Travel will be required.

Cheerleading kicks off with the Bomber Cheer camp in June (search camps). One practice per week determined by the coach.

Football – Flag

Season: August-October

Who: Boys Preschool – 9th Grade

Youth Night: TBD

Join the KCE Recreational Flag Football League to develop skills and learn the fundamentals of the game. This league is for residents who are in Preschool – 9th grade. All skill levels are welcome. Players will be placed on teams based on grade & skill level to balance the teams for a competitive fun league. Players will learn through Saturday games and one weekday practice.

Football – Kenston Youth (Tackle)

Kenston Youth Football teams play in the Great Lakes Youth Football League (see ages & weight restrictions).

Non-contact conditioning begins the last week in July. Practices will be 3-4 days per week in the summer, and 2-3 days per week once school begins. League games are played on Saturdays and/or Sundays.
