Business of the Week – Chagrin Valley Auto Parts (NAPA)

Chagrin Valley Auto Parts Co. (NAPA) is proud to serve the community for the past 45 years.  In those 45 years, we have expanded to include locations in Brooklyn, Painesville, Twinsburg, Middlefield, Madison, Ashtabula, Chardon, Chesterland, and Orwell.  The company was started by Lou Sugarman back in 1975 and purchased by his son, Pete Sugarman, when Lou retired in 2000.  We truly believe that our success comes from our employees.  We have the best trained and most experienced people in the business.  We have many long-term employees who have been with us up to 42 years.  If you drop in to any of our locations, you will be greeted by a familiar face that has the experience and the “NAPA Know How” to find what you’re looking for.  Many things have changed over the past 45 years, but our commitment to take care of our customers has remained our top priority.   We thank you for allowing us the opportunity to serve you!

Business of the Week – Calvetta Bros. Floor Show

Calvetta Bros. Floor Show has been serving Northeast Ohioans for more than 20 years – helping them beautify their homes. As with all small businesses amid COVID-19, things have changed for us and for our company.

We’ve taken this time to focus on our business practices and figure out best practices to streamline what we do to make the customer experience as optimal as possible for our loyal customers. We’ve also dedicated a specific COVID-19 team to making sure our showrooms are sanitized daily and that we are practicing appropriate social distancing when working with customers. Our customers’ health and safety is our number one priority – from sanitizing all flooring samples when they leave and enter our showrooms to having hand sanitizing stations throughout our stores to offering our customers areas in our store lobbies where they can drop off samples if they choose to not enter the store.

It’s because of our loyal customers and wonderful Clevelanders that we’ve been in business since 1999 and our plan is to continue to serve our customers for many, many more years. We take pride in helping people fall in love again… with their homes and we look forward to serving you very soon!

We have 4 locations in Northeast Ohio. Click here to find the showroom nearest you!

Business of the Week – Valley Art Center

Valley Art Center is excited to announce our public reopening!

Starting Monday, June 29, 2020 we will be back open to the public on a limited basis, with a new gallery exhibit, as well as new classescamps, virtual experiences and instructors! Office hours will be Monday-Thursday, 10 AM-2 PM. In order to maintain best practices of public safety, we will be implementing some new policies best described by “Screen, Clean, 6 Feet Between”

Screen – Please do not come to VAC if you are sick. All staff and patrons will be required to wear a mask at all times inside the building. All staff and patrons entering the building will be asked to respond to the following screening questions.

  • Do you have a new cough, fever, or shortness of breath?
  • Have you traveled to an area with a current COVID-19 outbreak* in the past 14 days?
  • Have you had exposure or contact with COVID-19 suspected or diagnosed individuals in the last 14 days without a mask?

Clean – In addition to our normal cleaning service, VAC Staff will clean each room after a class or public event including disinfecting surfaces, equipment, and other elements of the environment. Hand sanitizing supplies will be provided to staff and patrons. The kitchen will be closed, and no food or beverages will be provided by VAC for classes or events.

6 Feet Between – Social distancing will be maintained inside our building. To facilitate this, the following practices are in place:

  • Limit of 1 person per table for onsite classes
  • Limit of 1 patron in the VAC Gift Shop at any one time
  • Limit of 10 patrons in the Gallery at any one time
  • Onsite credit card transactions preferred over cash or check, and online class registrations and donations are recommended

Thank you for keeping safe practices for the benefit of the community.

Business of the Week – Chagrin Falls Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels Chagrin (MOW) has been providing meal delivery service to our Chagrin Valley neighbors in need since 1976.

Considered an “Essential Work or Activity” by the Ohio Department of Health Director’s Stay at Home Order, MOW has continued to prepare and deliver meals during the Covid-19 crisis. MOW implemented a meal delivery protocol to comply with the Director’s Order and protect both meal recipients and volunteers.

  • Recipients are now required to place coolers outside their door to receive meals so there is no direct contact with drivers.
  • The drivers wear face masks and gloves while at the MOW facility and while handling delivery coolers.
  • In order to practice “social distancing”, the drivers are riding solo rather than in pairs as they did previously.
  • The Kitchen staff is also taking extra precautions to ensure that meals are free from contamination during preparation and packing.

The number of recipients receiving meals has increased over the past few months but thanks to our dedicated drivers and kitchen volunteers, MOW continues to operating efficiently.

MOW is currently seeking additional kitchen volunteers (one morning per week Mon.-Fri).  If interested, please contact Sue Mansour at 440-668-9399.   For more information on MOW, please visit our website at

How does the program work? SO MUCH FOR SO LITTLE

  • Both a light and a full meal are delivered by noon to your door up to 5 days per week in microwavable containers for easy preparation
  • There is a simple sign up for meal service
  • There is a $6.00 fee per day for the meals. (Consideration made for financial difficulties)

To apply for Meal Service, call Sue Mansour, Recipient Coordinator at 440-668-9399 or call the Meals on Wheels Kitchen at 440- 543-1405
